Resident Research Award

Provides residents and fellows an opportunity to attend and present their scientific research at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. The intent is to expose young researchers who wish to further their careers in interventional radiology.

Resident-in-training Research Funding: Awards

Award

Up to four recipients will receive complimentary registration, a certificate of recognition and a travel stipend of $1,000.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be the principal or co-principal investigator of the research project and must be the listed abstract presenter
  • The candidate must be enrolled in a training program related to interventional radiology
  • The project must contain original scientific research and the abstract must be accepted to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting and presented as an oral presentation (abstract decisions may not have been communicated yet but applying for this award by the deadline is highly encouraged).

How to apply

The deadline for the 2027 award is 5 p.m. ET on Nov. 15, 2026.

The deadline for the call for abstracts is September 24, 2026. 

 If you have been awarded, submit your abstract to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting to be selected.
