What is the IR Clinical Trials Network?

Provides an enterprise in which SIR Foundation, researchers, and community-based service providers work toward new treatment options in community-level clinical practice care while providing mentorship.

How will the IR CTN further the science and practice of patients treated by IRs?

The IR CTN will further enhance research within the IR community to address the critical research questions within our field. This will be done by providing mentorship and guidance to IRs across the globe to help empower and broaden participation in research trials.

How will the IR CTN benefit me?

There are several benefits to participating.

For the investigators involved, the benefits include:

Grant investigators access to a capable network of sites for enrollment
Provide a discussion forum for clinical trial concepts and design
Provide access to educational resources for potential clinical trial investigators
Support investigators to help identify potential private or academic trial implementation organizations evaluation or other study resources (i.e. central IRB, etc.)

And for the industry and corporate partners, the benefits include:

An established network of participating sites for trial concepts
Expert level perspectives on research needs and opportunities in the IR community
Access to clinically engaged interventional radiologists

How can I join the IR CTN?

In order to join the IR CTN, please fill out the interest survey and the IR CTN task force will meet quarterly to evaluate the interested sites. After the review period, SIR Foundation staff will reach out to you with the next steps.

If you are an academic or private practice investigator and are interested in participating in the IR CTN, please take this brief survey.

Does my current institution have to be actively performing a clinical trial to join?

No. Even if your institution does not currently perform research, you can join the IR CTN and learn how to conduct clinical trials through our mentorship program.

How will I communicate with other sites within the IR CTN?

Once you join the IR CTN, you will be admitted into a private community on SIR Connect where you will have access to communicate with other sites.

Will there be a roster available to see who the members of the IR CTN are?

Yes, on SIR Connect.

Who are the leads for the CTN Taskforce? How can I join the task force?

Dr. Sanjay Misra from the Mayo Clinic is the current chair of the IR CTN task force.

If you are interested in joining the task force, you can apply as a volunteer through the SIR Volunteer Process.
