Each year, awardees are chosen by a review of all published manuscripts prior to the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting, voted by the editorial board members, and selected by the editor-in-chief. Because of the diversity of excellent laboratory and clinical research published in JVIR, several distinguished papers in these categories are also recognized.
