Resident/Fellow SIR Annual Scientific Meeting Research
Award
The Resident/Fellow Research Award is designed to provide
residents and fellows an opportunity to attend and present
scientific research at the SIR Annual Scientific Meeting. The
intent is to expose young researchers, who wish to further their
careers in interventional radiology, to the SIR Annual Scientific
Meeting.
The Annual Meeting Research Award Committee selects up to
three recipients of this award each year.
Recipients will receive:
- Complimentary registration
- Travel award payable toward one-half of airfare, hotel
and other meeting expenses up to $1,000, with other half
to be paid by awardees institution.
Award recipient is responsible for any costs incurred
beyond the total amount of the award. Read
full reimbursement policy.
Eligibility:
1. Candidate must be the Principal or Co-principal
investigator of the research project, and must be the listed
abstract presenter
2. Candidate must be enrolled in a training program related to
interventional radiology
Required Materials:
1. Abstract Number (Log into the 2008 SIR abstract submission
Web site; abstract number appears on the Edit/Create/View
Abstract Selection screen).
2. Applicants CV
3. Letter of support from applicants department or
institution stating that one-half of the total allowable costs of
the applicants travel will be reimbursed by the department
or institution
4. Letter of endorsement from an SIR member if the department
chair or fellowship director is not a member
Abstract Submission Deadline: TBD October 2008
Applications due: TBD November 2008
All applicants will be notified of award status in early
December. An applicant is only eligible to receive one research
award from the SIR Foundation in any given academic year. The
Annual Meeting Research Award Committee consists of the Annual
Scientific Meeting Committee Chair, Scientific Program Chair,
