Cooperative Alliance for Interventional Radiology Research
Building a Network for Interventional Radiology Clinical Research Trials
In early 2004, in response to the need for strong clinically relevant research in the interventional radiology community, the SIR Foundation created the Cooperative Alliance for Interventional Radiology Research (CAIRR). CAIRR is a dedicated clinical trials research network that allows for the development, facilitation and broad dissemination of human research among the interventional radiology community. The global purpose of the CAIRR clinical trials network is to provide organizational support for the identification of key strategic research priorities within interventional radiology, and to create an infrastructure for the development and implementation of pivotal clinical trials evaluating IR procedures. CAIRR functions to facilitate research protocols considered to be of high priority and strategic value to interventional practices and national health care.
